However, it is not been confirmed how many more versions of the animations are still there pending and how many are close to the final version of the movie that was released back in the years. As said by the sources, this was a video or clip which was canceled before the final version of the movie which was released earlier, and this unreleased version is released on the internet, and the authenticity is true as it is the real version which as canceled by the makers. As per the interview that came out back in 2015, it was been said by Taratakovsky that there were troubles during the making of the Popeye project, and during the process of making, Sony pictures canceled many videos earlier. And maybe this was one of them which is now on the internet.

He said that earlier when the movie was displayed before the announcement everyone from the team was happy and he got a positive response from everyone. Taratakovsky said that he got a great reaction, but he also added that after it was displayed with the Sony pictures something went wrong and he could sense that, and they didn’t respond at last. Taratakovsky added that he got a call from the Soy pictures and said that they were happy with the picture and explained how good it was. But he knew something was wrong as they did not give him any notes, so went to the executive of Sony pictures and had a chat with him to tell him genuinely what is wrong and Amy Pascal the executive of Sony Pictures told him that they loved Genndy but they didn’t quite like Popeye which was made by Genndy.

Taratakovsky added that they have the movie, and they are developing but it will not be the way I made it but they will improvise it. Lastly, Genndy added that the genuine response was very sincere and respectful to the Popeye movie and the way it is. But when asked about the possibility of future revival, Genndy didn’t quite respond with a possible answer. Still in 2020 as well, Genndy was reported to have hopes in the release of the movie.
