Fadzilah Kamsah, a Malaysian motivational speaker who died Monday at 70, was best known for his inspirational song “Ketika Indah” or “When It’s Beautiful.” The song was used as the theme song in several television dramas such as the Indonesian drama Cinta Di Kuala Lumpur (Love in Kuala Lumpur) and Malaysia’s Durai Manja (Dream of a Butterfly). The report stated that Kamsah had been knocked unconscious for about three minutes after falling off the raised stage of the University Technology Malaysia (UTM) auditorium where the talk was being held. For the first time in Malaysia, an idea to create a portal for cancers patient was formed by patients and medical staff from various departments. I was blessed enough to know Fadzilah personally and going through this sad news saddened me a lot. He became a cancer patient when he was 34 years old and has been fighting against cancer for almost 20 years.
